Andy Schneider is a professional hockey player, formerly of the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.


Schneider was drafted 156th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He began his hockey career playing with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, which he played for between 1998-2001. Schneider then enrolled at the University of North Dakota, where he played four seasons with the men's hockey team. Schneider recorded 18 goals, and 59 assists for 77 points in his collegiate career. Schneider was then signed to an entry-level contract by the Penguins and was placed on the Penguins' AHL affiliate in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Schneider split the 2005-06 season between the AHL Penguins and the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. In 50 AHL games that season, Schneider recorded 3 goals and 13 assists in his first season of professional hockey. Schneider then moved to the Portland Pirates for the 2007-08 season, where he recorded 3 goals and 8 assists in 57 games with the team.

Schneider signed a contract with the Toronto Marlies before the start of the 2008-09 season. Despite seven seasons of collegiate or semi-professional hockey, Schneider has never played in an NHL game.
